International Museum of Cartoon Art

To George Schwartz:
Now in its sixth month since opening to
the public last March, the International Museum of Cartoon Art has
proved to be a wonderful success.
Visitor response (nearly 45,000 people
from every state in the country and numerous foreign countries)
reflects a love and appreciation of the masterpieces in our renowned
collection. I'm certain, too, that visitors are very impressed with the
presentation of our art work which you helped so immeasurably.
On behalf of our Director of Curatorial
Affairs Gary Hood, I wanted to tell you how impressed I was with the
quality of your work; the collection looks magnificent. I have also
been impressed with your highly-professional standards, your respect
for the art itself and for the best ways to mount and frame it.
You were a pleasure to work with because
of your respect for the art, your understanding of our extraordinary
pre- opening pressures and deadlines, and your never-failing standards
and good humor.
I know Gary and you are making plans to
work together again. Your good work continues to be an enhancement to
the great works we're so proud to display for audiences from around the
world.
Cordially,
Mort Walker, Chairman
